REPORT: LIVERPOOL TELL MIDFIELDER’S AGENT THEY WILL PAY £34.5M FOR HIM
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are now actively trying to sign Gabri Veiga.
According to 90min, Liverpool are interested in signing Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Liverpool have held talks with super agent Pini Zahavi and have told him that they would like to sign Veiga.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are reportedly ready to pay Veiga’s release clause of €40 million (£34.5 million) or “pay a little extra if paid in instalments”.
However, Liverpool are not the only club who are willing to do so.
According to 90min, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United have also held talks with Zahavi and are ready to do what Liverpool are.
Could Liverpool sign Gabri Veiga?
In our opinion, Liverpool could struggle to sign Gabri Veiga in the summer transfer window.
Now, of course, paying the release clause of the 21-year-old central midfielder is simply enough.
The problem for Liverpool would be convincing the youngster himself to make the switch to Anfield.
After all, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United all are massive clubs and would be able to match the salary that Liverpool would be willing to pay.
The main and decisive factor could be where Veiga would play regularly next season.
The Spanish youngster made 28 starts and eight substitute appearances in La Liga for Celta last season.
Veiga scored 11 goals and gave four assists in those games.
So, the youngster would surely want to join a club where he would get to play regularly in the first team.READ MORE
