A woman ‘raped by man posing as a taxi driver’ in Swindon old town.

Police on foot patrol were reported by residents in Hoopers Place at around 1.30am this morning (Sunday).
They raised concerns about the safety of a woman who said she was assaulted by a man who encouraged her to get into his car by suggesting that he was taxi driver.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and indecent assault. He was detained by the police.
