Although the summer transfer window has only just closed, Leicester City have a number of players with a year left on their current contracts, meaning they could talk to interested parties from January onwards and potentially leave.
then if that suits all parties.
Unless an agreement is reached in the meantime, the following eight players will no longer be able to play for the Foxes from next season.
Jamie Vardy
Synonymous with Leicester’s Premier League title in 2016, Vardy was also part of the team that won the FA Cup during what is arguably one of the most glorious periods in the Foxes’ history.
Leicester City: Why Real Madrid want to sign Wilfred Ndidi
At 36 years old, it is hard to imagine how he could sign a new contract, especially if Leicester are promoted at the end of this season.
Wilfried Ndidi
A consistent, even exceptional player.
Ndidi just gets on with the job in hand and does what he has to do.
Beloved at the club since joining in 2017, it was a surprise that he wasn’t snapped up this summer.

A player that hasn’t made a single appearance for the Championship outfit despite have been with the club for a year.
At 33, the custodian could still go on for a while yet, but it’s highly unlikely to be with Leicester City.
Dennis Praet
Another who hasn’t really made a positive impression at the club despite the fact he’s been with them for four years.
Praet will have to return to work after his injury if he wants to have a chance of signing a new contract.
Hamza Choudhury is being used this season but only from the bench and that raises the question of whether he is in the club’s thoughts.
He will clearly have to do more to ensure his place in the starting lineup is no longer even a topic of discussion.
Jannik Verstergaard
How times change.
The 31-year-old is once again first choice in the center of defense after a long absence.
Whether he is fit for another Premier League season if the Foxes go up is a moot point at this stage.
Has played every game so far in the 2023/24 season, but has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs over the summer.
Of those on the list, he could be the first to be offered a new contract.
Publicist could replace Wilfred Ndidi in midfield as well as writing apologies
Marc Albrighton
Another 33-year-old player, although not unlike Alex Smithies, Marc Albrighton is still making a strong impression at the club.
Much will likely depend on whether or not the Foxes reach the promised land again.
Albrighton could probably still do some work in the Championship, but a move to the Premier League would be a bridge too far.

Leicester are interested in the transfer of the 19-year-old Champions League winger
Up to now in the summer transfer window, Enzo Maresca has done reasonably well for Leicester City.
Despite losing talented twins James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, the Foxes still attracted Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Stephy Mavididi, Mads Hermansen, Cesare Casadei and Callum Doyle a combination of experience and youth.
Three wins from three games puts them second in the English Championship standings only thanks to Ipswich Town conceding one less goal.
Along with the Tractor Boys, Leicester are the only second-tier team to achieve a 100% record this season, so clearly Maresca are doing something right.

However, it seems he is not completely satisfied with the way his team is set up and to do so, he is looking to recruit a winger who has played in the Champions League for Sporting.
The Daily Mail note that the Portuguese giants do not have 19-year-old Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in their plans for the 2023/24 campaign and Leicester are therefore hoping to attract both player and club with a deal.

With eight days remaining in the current window, there is plenty of time to complete the deal and the player himself must decide whether playing first-team football in England is preferable to a potential season of being sidelined.
