Everton could sign 23-y/o int’l attacker as takeover twist emerges at PL rivals – report

Everton could swoop for Iliman Ndiaye amid Sheffield United takeover twist

Everton could look to take advantage of Sheffield United needing to sell Iliman Ndiaye during the summer window, according to 90min.

It’s believed the Blades could look to sell the 23-year-old Senegalese striker along with midfielder Sander Berge (90min, 26 June).

United’s Prince Abdullah is looking to sell the club but the sale appears to be hampering Paul Heckingbottom’s transfer plans.

The sooner two or three new forwards arrive at Everton the better.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury issues have been never-ending and it’s becoming harder to rely upon the England international at Goodison Park.

Neal Maupay has been a disappointing addition and the Frenchman should be sold during the summer. He was never prolific, so quite why the board thought he was the answer last season is up for debate.

Ellis Simms is another who could move on during the summer window, with Sunderland, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough reportedly interested.

Now feels like the right time for the 22-year-old to move on. He’s been unlucky due to the club’s circumstances but needs to be given the chance to play regular football – he will get that in the Championship.

Ndiaye has been prolific for the Blades in the second tier and if they’re forced to sell, he could be an astute pickup. He’s still relatively young and could develop if he moves to Goodison Park.

Evertonians could certainly do with some news of the transfer front, but if feels as if any incoming will have to wait until funds are raised through player sales.
