Eberechi Eze: Crystal Palace's 'deep thinker' never gave up on England dream despite multiple setbacks

Eze is said to be intent on moving to north London in the summer as Spurs explore a deal to sign the Palace star.

Indeed, journalist Dean Jones claimed last month that Tottenham were considering a deal to sign Eze in the summer.

But a £70m deal for the midfielder failed to materialize as Tottenham focused their attention elsewhere.

Now, Eze has been spotted at an event in London alongside Spurs captain Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min was spotted with Spurs target Eze

Eze took to Instagram last night and posted a photo of himself and his son.

The duo can be seen laughing together at a Burberry event in London.

Eze has played for the Eagles for the past two years and it is no surprise that he is attracting interest from Tottenham.

The 25-year-old also received admiring looks from Manchester City and began the final two years of his contract at Selhurst Park.

Of course, Spurs signed James Maddison in the summer, so it’s easy to see why they haven’t increased their interest in Eze. But it will be interesting to see whether they reconsider their interest in the upcoming transfer window.

The Englishman appears to be the perfect choice for Spurs and would fit in well with Ange Postecoglou’s style of football.

The Spaniard is currently recovering from surgery this summer. He has yet to play this season and many predict he will be sold this summer.

Tottenham signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 and Erik Lamela played a key role in making the deal a reality.

Spurs paid the Spanish side a reported £21.4m (Guardian) and sent the Argentine in the opposite direction to sign the talented winger, one of the exciting prospects England’s top team at the time. However, Gil’s time at Tottenham was not as expected.

The Spaniard, described as a “superstar” player, played just over 1,060 minutes for Spurs and was loaned out twice. He would have been gone in the summer, but the injury that forced him to have surgery kept him in north London.

Gil’s future remains uncertain and Sevilla remain committed to his signature. If the move comes to fruition, Lamela says he would love it. He told Estadio Deportivo:
“I would love to (see him again in Seville) because of who he is.

This could be a decision that will come to fruition in the January transfer window.

Tottenham are having a great attack at the moment, aren’t they? They have Brennan Johnson, Manor Solomon, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski on the wings, while Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon could also play there.

It is difficult for Gil to break into the team, especially without European football, and there is a possibility that Spurs will let him leave in the winter transfer window if he cannot impress after recovering from injury. If he is available, we are sure Sevilla will consider signing him again. Lamela, as he himself admits, would love to see this happen.
