Dean Henderson is injured once more following his unsuccessful deal to Nottingham Forest.
Dean Henderson, a former goalie for Nottingham Forest, had to leave his debut for Crystal Palace due to an injury.
The goalie played 18 Premier League games while on loan at the City Ground last season before an injury ended his campaign early. Although fellow loanee Keylor Navas took his spot, Forest still wanted to re-sign Henderson this past summer.
Henderson instead joined Palace this summer, and made his debut on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup, away at his former club Manchester United. He was forced off with a reported groin injury less than 20 minutes into the clash.
Forest supporters have been reacting to Henderson’s injury on social media. One said: “Awful bad luck for Dean Henderson but 100% vindicates the decision of #NFFC not to buy him. All the Man U fans moaning at us for not going ahead with the deal can shut up now.”
Another added: “There was rumours Forest wouldn’t buy Hendo because he couldn’t kick a football with his injury. That’s why the loan deal was proposed and also why we wanted quite a few games in the buy clause. Right decision, smug face tomorrow for all who made that call.”

According to Sport, the Catalan giants are monitoring the progress of the Nigerian. He’s started the Championship campaign well with Leicester as they sit top of the pile.
The 26-year-old has scored three goals in 10 appearances during 2023/24. He’s been a pretty important figure in the team and his form for the Foxes hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Ndidi was linked with Forest throughout the summer. However, the Reds managed to sign number one midfield target Ibrahim Sangare on transfer deadline day and Ndidi wasn’t signed.
This would be quite the move. Not many defensive midfielders get the chance to swap the Championship for one of the giants of world football and move to Barcelona.
That could be the prospect facing Ndidi, however, with Barcelona now keeping tabs on him. The player is out of contract next summer and he could walk away from the Foxes for nothing.
Ndidi has been with Leicester since 2017 when he joined the club from Genk in Belgium. He’s won the FA Cup and Community Shield with the Foxes, making 247 appearances in total.
In a sense, not really. Once Sangare became a possibility, the chances of Ndidi making the switch to Leicester’s rivals across the East Midlands became pretty slim.
Sangare cost the club in the region of £30 million and he was the club’s primary target all summer. As a result, it appears as though Ndidi was merely considered a fallback option.
The man with 53 caps for his country is a quality player though. Brendan Rodgers was a huge fan and called him ‘incredible’ when he was in charge of Leicester.
