Three clubs line up to sign Nottingham Forest’s ‘outstanding’ striker
Three clubs are currently looking to sign Gustavo Scarpa on a permanent transfer from Nottingham Forest. The 29-year-old is currently on loan at Olympiacos for the 2023/24 season.
According to R7, the three clubs that want to sign him permanently are all from Brazil. Flamengo, Fluminense and the Forest club that signed him, Palmeiras, are all keen.
Scarpa made a rare start for Olympiacos last week. They won 4-0 in the match against Kifisia and the Brazilian striker performed very well.
The Reds took the player on a free transfer from Palmeiras in January 2023. He made 10 appearances for Forest before it was decided that he would go to Olympiacos on loan this season.
The player has a contract at Forest until 2026. As a result, it’s unlikely that the player will be allowed to leave on the cheap, although it seems as though Scarpa has played his last game for the club.
In the short-term, the player will hope to play lots of football in Greece this season. Either in January or at the end of the campaign, there will be a decision to make.
Scarpa showed some glimpses at Forest of what he is capable of. Ultimately, Steve Cooper didn’t see him as the man to trust in a relegation scrap and it’s fair to say that the team now have better players.
The future looks to be away from England for Scarpa
This one is a bit of a shame. Scarpa spoke about a move to Europe being his dream when he arrived at Forest but things look to be over as far as the Premier League is concerned for the player.
The player has some really good moments at certain periods of games under Cooper. Back in January, Ian Wright called him ‘brilliant’ for his performance in a 2-0 win over Leicester.
Scarpa is in the prime of his career right now. As a result, he can’t dwell on the Forest setback too much and he will now have to focus on where his future lies when he does leave permanently.

According to Voetbal International, Lars Veldwijk has had his contract terminated with South Korean side Suwon FC after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. The former Nottingham Forest and Sparta Rotterdam striker initially received a 15 match ban from the K-League, but Suwon have since decided to release their star man. The 32-year-old was caught drink driving in August, which carries severe penalties in South Korea.
Veldwijk has spent the last three seasons with Suwon FC, where he has become incredibly popular. In 111 games he scored 40 goals and provided 21 assists. The former South Africa international is now without a club, but it’s expected that a Dutch club will come calling soon, as he’s previously played for seven different sides in the Netherlands.
Volendam, Utrecht, Dordrecht, Groningen, PEC Zwolle, Sparta Rotterdam and Excelsior Rotterdam are among the many clubs that Lars Veldwijk has played for. He also had a brief spell with Nottingham Forest, where he scored just one goal in 17 appearances. Suwon FC have said goodbye to the striker and he’ll officially leave the club on the 30th of September.
