Bears' Justin Fields dislocated thumb on throwing hand in loss to Vikings: report | Fox News

Break:
Today Bears quarterback Justin Fields dislocated his thumb, he put it back together and tried to play but couldn’t catch the ball. X-rays were negative but due to the dislocation an MRI will be needed tomorrow to know the full severity of the damage @NFLonFOX

While he may not be proficient in football, we don’t have a timetable for how long the young midfielder will be out of action. He didn’t have a good game before the injury as he was just 6 of 10 for 58 yards and an interception as well as 8 for 46 yards. The loss leaves the Chicago Bears among the top two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, as they also own the Carolina Panthers’ first-round pick.

Week 6 was filled with injuries throughout the game with guys like Trevor Lawrence, Lane Johnson and Christian McCaffrey all being ruled out in their respective games. This could be the end for Justin Fields in a Chicago Bears shirt.

The Chicago Bears getting the top two picks in the upcoming NFL Draft could be more valuable than seeing if Justin Fields’ fourth year is a success. Teams trade quarterbacks when they have the first pick, as we saw with the New York Jets trading Sam Darnold. The NFL trade deadline is on Halloween and this will be the last time this season the Bears can trade Fields and get anything in return. At this point, the Bears could move on from the Ohio State product and continue poaching USC quarterback Caleb Williams and find him someone like wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Or find another defense plan.

It doesn’t look like Justin Fields played badly at all. For the season, he was 100 of 162 (61.7 completion percentage) for 1,201 yards with 11 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. In his previous three matches, he has 8 points:
2 as well. Additionally, he was able to run the ball effectively with 47 rushes for 237 yards (5.0 yards per carry) with just one rushing touchdown. He has the makings of a starting quarterback at a low level or an elite reserve. This team has a lot of talent and can win games, but it seems like the Chicago Bears can’t win consistently and could cost Fields his chance to be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season prize. as the team tries to secure the top two picks.
