Dom Young, a winger for ENGLAND and Newcastle Knights, is expected to miss the remainder of the Test Series against Tonga due to his hospitalization.
When England manager Shaun Wane announced his 19-man roster for tomorrow’s match against Kristian Woolf’s team, there were raised eyebrows because Young was left off the roster.
It has since been disclosed, though, that Young—who will be joining the Sydney Roosters for the 2024 NRL season and beyond—was admitted to the hospital due to an infection.
That being said, there are currently uncertainties on whether Young will participate in any capacity during the Test Series, even though the details of his illness and the intensity of the virus are unknown.
Try-scoring machine Tom Johnstone, who had a fantastic season with the Catalans Dragons, is expected to earn his second cap of his career in Young’s place.
