The Jacksonville Jaguars earned their fourth straight win in a Thursday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Jacksonville Jaguars initially held a comfortable lead in their Week 7 matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, entering the fourth quarter with a 24-9 advantage.
However, The Saints made an impressive comeback, ending the match with only 6 minutes and 38 seconds left. That rally was sparked by a 1-yard touchdown run by Taysom Hill and a spectacular touchdown run by Michael Thomas, followed by a successful two-point conversion courtesy of Alvin Kamara.
Finally, the Jaguars earned their fourth straight victory by defeating the Saints 31-24. The hero of the night was wide receiver Christian Kirk, who attracted attention with a four-year, $72 million contract in free agency during the 2022 offseason. The winning touchdown in Kirk’s play was played at a 44-yard reception from a simple route. Kirk, a 26-year-old selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Texas A&M Cardinals, humbly reflected on his remarkable accomplishment, saying, “I don’t think I’ve run that fast since Go college. I guess it’s vintage. I’m glad I was able to do it then.
Next Gen Stats revealed that Kirk’s touchdown reached a top speed of 19.76 miles per hour, exceeding expectations by gaining 27 yards after the catch. Kirk’s stellar performance proved crucial as the Jaguars earned their fourth straight victory.
With a 5-2 record, Jacksonville is now three games above .500, marking the first time they have done so since the end of the 2017 season when they reached the ‘AFC championship game.
