What has Jamie Carragher said about James Maddison’s Leicester departure?
Speaking on Sky Sports on Monday night, Carragher claimed that Maddison has taken the step up to a bigger club extremely well.
The former centre-back has previously praised the midfielder’s strong personality in taking on such an important role in the team.
“I think he had a huge influence on that change at Spurs,” Carragher said via Leicestershire Live.
“The credit goes to the manager because that was his philosophy and style of play, but he played a big part in it.

“I think at one point he wore the captain’s armband.
“He just has that type of personality, and you talk about moving up and going to a bigger club, sometimes it’s too much for the players and they can’t take it.
“It’s not a matter of ability but of mentality and he can do it.
“He accepted this and went to a bigger club.”
Maddison has settled in well at Spurs, who have achieved impressive results under new manager Ange Postecoglou this season.
The north London club are currently top of the Premier League table, thanks in part to the impact of the former Leicester man. since his arrival this summer.
Meanwhile, Leicester also lead their respective leagues, five points behind second-placed Ipswich Town, despite having played one game more.
Enzo Maresca’s side dropped just three points from their opening 12 matches, giving them a solid foundation for automatic promotion straight to the Premier League.
The gap to the play-off places is currently 11 points ahead of tonight’s clash with sixth-placed Sunderland at the King Power Stadium.

How bad was James Maddison’s loss to Leicester?
Maddison has been the team’s most important figure, alongside Jamie Vardy, over the past few seasons, contributing 30 goals and 22 assists in the past three campaigns.
But as Vardy’s influence began to wane, the midfielder only grew in stature and established his status with some key moments for the team.
With Leicester still under threat of relegation from the Championship, it’s clear that Maddison deserves to stay in the top flight.
Too many Leicester fans would find it hard to fault the player for the success he is currently enjoying at Tottenham and the recognition he deserves for his performances for the team by Postecoglou.
