WITH a number of Ipswich sports clubs this afternoon, Ipswich Rangers Rugby Club will bea registration day for new players and volunteers.
Aiming to give the older groups a boost this season, Rangers junior co-ordinator Mark Osborne hopes a new online registration system will simplify the process for parents. “Last year was probably the best response we’ve ever had in the U6 to U9 age group,” Osborne said. “We still have good numbers there, but we hope to increase numbers in the 14-17 age group.
“Things are a little different when it comes to online registration for all players, which is why we’re holding two Play Rugby at Rangers information evenings tonight and next Friday. We I will also have games for the kids and food.”
After hosting an under-15s state carnival last year, Rangers hope to stage more state-wide events in Ipswich.
Following major upgrades at Rangers’ ground during the mid-season break, the club needs more volunteers to support the future
“We always look forward to organizing these festivals and with upgrading our fields, they’re going in much better conditions,” Osborne said.
“Our committee is committed to making sure we look good and many of our parents volunteer to participate these events.
