BREAKING: New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones’ Injury Timetable Revealed
There is now a little more clarity on when New York Giants QB Daniel Jones may see the field once again. According to Adam Schefter, it looks like he is not going to return for the Giants until at least Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys
Daniel Jones has missed the last two games due to a neck injury. He was also ruled out for tomorrow’s game against the New York Jets. However, now we know that he will at least miss Week 9’s clash with the Las Vegas Raiders as well.
Even before he suffered a neck injury, the 2023 season was not a memorable one for Jones. He had just 884 passing yards and two touchdown passes through five games.
Plus, he threw six interceptions in that stretch. Jones only threw five interceptions throughout the entire 2022 season.
In the meantime, Taylor has been filling in for Jones for the last two weeks and will do so again tomorrow. While he is not lighting up the stats sheet, he has not thrown an interception yet this season.
Now, it looks like the New York Giants are going to have to rely on Taylor for longer than expected.
The Giants’ offense has been mediocre at best this season whether they have Jones or Taylor behind the center. Both quarterbacks have only provided one win each for New York and the Giants have the lowest-scoring offense in the NFL.
The current timeline has Jones set to return on the road against the Dallas Cowboys in two weeks. If the opening game of the season is any indication, this may not be the most ideal spot for Jones.
He threw two interceptions in that game and had two fumbles. Plus, he was sacked seven times in that 40-0 loss against the Cowboys.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones remains neutral as he awaits medical approval clearing him for contact from a neck injury suffered in Week 5 against Miami. Jones, who didn’t practice the week following the injury, has since been cleared to practice on a limited basis with his teammates. He told reporters on Wednesday that he can do everything he needs to, including throwing and lifting weights. However, he admitted that he’s still dealing with some symptoms and is still unable to do some things that doctors want to see him do before they give him the green light to resume full football activities.
In other injury news, center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) worked in team drills during Wednesday’s practice and was expected to do so again on Thursday. Schmitz appears to be trending toward returning after a three-game absence following his injury. Speaking of Thomas, he appeared to come through Wednesday’s practice in which he was limited with no setbacks. Daboll said that Thomas would see an increase in his workload Thursday as the team continues to monitor whether they’ll have one of their most important players on offense back or if they decide to wait another week to allow Thomas, who hasn’t played since Week 1 and who last tried to practice before the team’s Week 4 game against Seattle, to get more up to speed. As for the rest of Thursday’s injury report, Daboll said it should look the same as Wednesday’s.
