In the third quarter of the team’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, tight end Tyler Eifert suffered a horrific injury to his lower right leg, which may have ended his season for the Cincinnati Bengals.
After quarterback Andy Dalton’s ball to Eifert, Falcons defenders De’Vondre Campbell and Jack Crawford tackled him right away. After the tackle, Eifert’s ankle seemed to pop back.
The talented 28-year-old lay unconscious for a few minutes before to being helped off the field. As he was welcomed by teammates on his way to the locker room, the medical professionals stabilized his leg.
After the game, Eifert tweeted, “This was the hardest I’ve worked to put myself in a position to help this team succeed and having this happen crushes me.” “If past experiences have taught me anything, it’s not the time for negativity and self-pity.”
NFL.com reports that Eifert was set to have surgery “imminently” and that his season was probably finished.
After the first four games of the season, Eifert was among the Bengals’ best receivers. In those games, he totaled 15 receptions for 179 yards and a score.

On Sunday afternoon, Tyler Eifert, the tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals, was having a fantastic start.
Eifert had four receptions for 38 yards and a score against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. To celebrate, he pretended to down a beer while holding the football in the goal zone.
However, the Bengals’ 37-36 triumph saw his fantastic day come to an abrupt end on his fourth reception.
At the beginning of the second half, Eifert was breaking up field after catching the ball. His right ankle was hooked and bent the wrong way by Falcons linebacker De’Vondre Campbell as he was being tackled.

After being rapidly placed in an air cast, Eifert needed to be wheeled off the field. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Eifert’s season is finished.
With disappointment, Eifert tweeted,
This season, he caught 15 passes for 171 yards and one touchdown—his sixth in the NFL. The 28-year-old endured ankle surgery in 2016 and underwent back surgery last year, ending the season after only two games played. After suffering an elbow injury in the season opening, he also missed almost the whole 2014 campaign.
A.J. Green’s game-winning touchdown in the final seconds gave the Bengals a victory over the Falcons.
