On Sunday, Damar Hamlin will experience a full circle moment.
Today, the Bills make their way back to Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium—the location that forever altered Hamlin’s life. In Week 17 of the previous season, Hamlin had a heart arrest at the Bengals’ home stadium and needed life-saving medical assistance while on the field.
Hamlin talked about returning to the location where he almost lost his life in the days before the game, saying that he “ain’t running from it.”
Regarding his return to Cincinnati, Hamlin remarked, “I think it’s going to be super electric.” “It will be all love, in my opinion. All I have to compare it to is returning to (the Bills’) stadium and witnessing the overwhelming love and support.
“I’m very sure that will bring back a lot of memories, so I’ll be emotional going back there. But I’m not escaping it. I’m prepared to cross the fire.”

Outside of the field, Hamlin has been the talk of the town ever since that terrible Monday night in January. The 25-year-old presented the Pat Tillman Award to the Bills training staff who helped save his life at the ESPYs and accepted the 2023 George Halas Award, an annual distinction given out by the Pro Football Writers of America.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Hamlin is not anticipated to play in Sunday’s game.
Considering that Hamlin has only dressed for one of the Bills’ eight games this season, that should come as no surprise. That occurred in Week 4, when Hamlin was able to suit up for the game due to Jordan Poyer’s injury; yet, the safety did not play a defensive snap.
