Former Pittsburgh Steelers QB is dating one of country music’s top stars

Pittsburgh Steelers fans who were paying attention to the CMA Awards Wednesday might have noticed a familiar face in the festivities.

Yes, that was former Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges rocking a Cowboy hat and accompanying country music star and the most nominated artist of the night, Lainey Wilson, to the show. And, yes, they are a couple.

The two have apparently been together since 2021, but didn’t make that information public until “Duck” was by her side at May’s ACM Awards.

Lainey Wilson Reveals How Long She's Been Dating Devlin "Duck" Hodges

Wilson talked about the relationship back in June saying that Hodges had “been around for a while,” and is a “good dude.”

“He knows what it’s like chasing a dream because he’s done that for himself,” she said. “He was in the NFL. He tried out literally for the Steelers and made it and had a really great run with them. Went out to the LA Rams and did that. But I’ll tell you, he is good as good. Supports me, would never come in between anything that I’m trying to do. He’s like, ‘Go get it, girl.’ And I made him wait for a while. I mean … it’s been a little over two years now.”

Wilson said that “Duck,” fits in well with her crowd.

“I mean, he’s buddies with all my buddies,” she said. “He’ll FaceTime me and he’ll be with HARDY or he’ll be with Cole Swindell and all of them. I’m like, ‘Can you please stop taking my friends?’”

The Green Bay Packers received good news for their offensive line Thursday ahead of their Week 10 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers need their offensive line to be as healthy as possible before they play a ferocious Pittsburgh Steelers pass rush.

The Packers listed two offensive linemen, Yosh Nijman (back) and Jon Runyan Jr. (neck), as players who did not participate during Wednesday’s practice. Missing those two players would be concerning against the Steelers, who have 26 sacks coming into Week 10—former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker T.J. Watt has 9.5 of those sacks.

It’s unclear if they were limited or full participants in the practice. The Packers have yet to release an updated injury report. But they’re trending toward getting back on the field.

The Green Bay Packers (3-5) are coming off a strong 20-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams this past week.  The Packers had to have gained some confidence in that win and hope to carry it forward.  The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3), however, are looking to keep pace with the 7-2 Baltimore Ravens within their own division.

Week 10 figures to be a good measuring stick as to where each team is.  Today, Matt LaFleur answered a few questions prior to their matchup in Pittsburgh, and one didn’t sit well with fans at all.

Jaire Alexander has been dealing with a back injury this season, but he missed practice on Wednesday because of a different ailment.

Because of a shoulder injury, Alexander was not able to participate in the team’s first on-field workout of the week. Last Sunday, Alexander played every snap in the team’s win over the Rams, so it’s unclear when the injury occurred. Today he missed his second striaght practice an LaFleur wasn’t confident at all on when his star cornerback would return.

The Packers’ defense had their best performance of the year last week.  Facing a backup quarterback or not, holding an NFL offense to three points is certainly something to celebrate.

The Packers do have hope in rookie CB Carrington Valentine.  In only his fourth career start, Valentine faced one of the league’s best receiving corps in the Los Angeles Rams. According to Pro Football Focus, Valentine had a team-high three pass breakups while allowing only one reception on eight targets. In addition to two tackles, he had a passer rating against of 39.6.

If Jaire Alexander is in-fact out a significant portion of the season, Valentine may be able to fill in nicely.  There is no replacing one of the best cornerbacks in all of football, but Valentine certainly has an opportunity to make a name for himself within this defense.
