Latest injury update on Plymouth Argyle defender Brendan Galloway The Zimbabwe international has not played for the Pilgrims since April due to a hamstring injury and has recently struggled in his recovery Steven Schumacher has revealed another injury to Plymouth Argyle defender Brendan Galloway has delayed his return to action further.
The Zimbabwe international has faced a number of fitness issues since joining the Pilgrims in the summer of 2021 and he missed the end of last season due to a hamstring injury that required surgical intervention.
Galloway continued his rehabilitation throughout pre-season as he and another Pilgrims defender, Macaulay Gillesphey, recovered from activity.
There was a time when Schumacher thought Galloway would return to action against Gillesphey, but that didn’t happen.

He was actually ahead of Macaulay Gillesphey at one point and then felt himself He had to go for further consultation, there was a bit of inflammation around one of his tendons – the tendon was torn – so he had to have an injection to calm down.
“That’s all, it takes a short time for it to recover.
He has now had his second and final injection, so the plan is for him to start developing again on the field this week.
” Galloway has played just six games since December last year, all between February and April earlier this year, the latest coming in a 2-1 League One away win over Shrewsbury Town on 18 May.

Schumacher added: “It just has to build itself.
He is not far from arguing within the group.
He probably had two or three weeks of training with us and we had planned a closed match for him, but that didn’t happen.
