The Green Bay Packers finally lands Their key star Chase Connection In 2024

The Green Bay Packers Find Their Joe Burrow-Ja’Marr Chase Connection In 2024

The Green Bay Packers are staring at a 3-6 record so far in 2023 and, barring an improbable playoff run, they will soon have to turn their focus to the 2024 season.  This past off-season saw the Packers become one of the youngest teams in the NFL by way of trades and choosing to not re-sign veteran free agents.

Ja'Marr Chase wants Joe Burrow to take all the time he needs for recovery

When that decision was made it was understood that growing pains would be apart of the 2023 season.  However, not many anticipated the offense not being able to average more than 20 points a game.  If the Packers’ young offense doesn’t give the front office confidence between now and the end of the season, could the decision be made to invest in a new QB1 and WR1?

Here we go. The Packers don’t land one of the top quarterback prospects on Day 1, but they use one of their two second-round picks on LSU’s Jayden Daniels.

Considering the incredible season he is having, Daniels is likely flying up draft boards. He has thrown for 3,164 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only four interceptions while rushing for an unbelievable 918 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games this year.

“Daniels has completely reworked his game in the pocket, dicing up defenses with his quick processing ability, anticipation, smooth mechanics, accuracy, and situational precision,” writes Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network.

According to ESPN, Daniels became the first player in FBS history to throw for 350 yards and rush for 200 yards in the same game last week. It was a record-breaking performance, and one that should put him on the Packers’ radar in the upcoming draft. He is a playmaker and continues to turn heads this season.

The LSU quarterback could force his way into the first-round conversation. That’s how impressive he has been. But Daniels was available at No. 38 overall using the mock draft simulator, making it an opportunity too good to pass up for the Packers.

In preparation for their matchup with the Packers on Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers signed former Packers outside linebacker Justin Hollins off the practice squad of the New York Giants.

Hollins joined Green Bay last season after being claimed off waivers. Upon returning from training camp in 2023, he was named to the 53-man roster and played in four games before being released. The Giants signed him to their practice squad on October 24.  Hollins won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
