Notre Dame football could get key player back for Stanford
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have one more game in the regular season. I would be a bit embarrassing if they messed around and found a way to lose to Stanford. Obviously, that’s something that could happen, as witnessed by the outcome of this game a year ago.
In order to avoid an embarrassing Notre Dame football loss, the irish are going to need all hands on deck. That includes their starting center, who missed the Wake Forest game.
Zeke Correll was still in concussion protocol earlier this week. However, during one of his last press conferences leading up to the game against the Cardinal, head coach Marcus Freeman made it clear he thinks Correll will be back by Saturday night.
“We expect him to be back this week,” Freeman said, “but that’s up to the doctor’s decision.”
In place of Correll last weekend, the Irish went with Ashton Craig and he certainly seemed like he filled in well. But if Notre Dame has to decide between the guy that’s been the starter for most of the season, and a young lineman making his second start, it’s a no-brainer.
Of course, if Correll turns out not to be ready to return, then Freeman was clear that he has no problem going with Craig.
