PITTSBURGH — After one scary hit put an Arizona Cardinals player out of action, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw the face of their offense hit the sidelines.

*UPDATE: Pickett has been ruled out for the remainder of the game*

With 5:10 remaining in the second quarter, Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett took off from the pocket in hopes of scoring the game’s first touchdown on a third-and-goal situation.

However, Cardinals linebacker Josh Woods met Pickett at the goal line with a hit that saw Pickett exit the game with an ankle injury.

After the play, Pickett stayed on the ground while being evaluated for injury. Pickett exited the game and as of this moment is in the Steelers’ blue medical tent on the sideline.

Pittsburgh put backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky in for a fourth-and-goal play, which was unsuccessful after the Cardinals stopped them just short.

Pickett – Pittsburgh’s first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft – has led the Steelers to a 7-4 record thus far. Pickett has thrown for 2,000 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions entering Week 13.

Pickett was on Pittsburgh’s injury report as a full participant with an ankle injury all week but was removed from the report after Friday.
