But what made the game stand out was the 89-point victory, breaking the record for a 76-point victory set in 1995 in a 56-2 overtime victory over Prairie View.
That run included a 47-point streak despite no response from McNeese, demonstrating LSU’s offensive dominance.
Defensively, LSU was just as strong, holding McNeese from scoring in the second quarter.

“I don’t know if I had anything to do with it (holding them scoreless for an entire quarter),” coach Kim Mulkey said, as reported by the Associated Press.

McNeese State battled the pressure from LSU’s defense, with Alba Mofolk and Emilia Tenbrock each scoring 12 points.

And despite missing point guard Haley Van Lith with an injury, LSU adapted well with Poa taking over that role last season.
