ESPN answers Tennessee’s biggest questions in 2024.
Sports leaders around the world are keeping an eye on Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamareaba ahead of the 2024 season.
ESPN recently released an early preview highlighting the biggest question marks for each team currently ranked in the College Football Playoff poll.
All eyes are on the quarterback position at the University of Tennessee.
They didn’t have the same quarterback play in 2023 as they did in 2022, and that slowed down the passing offense.
With quarterback Joe Milton III turning pro, former standout player Nico Iamareaba is expected to become the starter.
Imareaba is ranked No.
2 overall in 247Sports’ 2023 class overall rankings, marking Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel’s biggest recruiting win to date.
ESPN shared their thoughts on the matter ahead of next season, stating: Blessed with incredible arm strength, Imaleaba has redshirted this season, giving us only a glimpse of his true potential.
” That might be enough, but they came as a mop-up mission.
But he’s clearly Tennessee’s quarterback of the future, and coach Josh Heupel wants to build around him.
The Vols will likely look into the portal to give Imareava another dynamic receiver to throw to.
Depending on who returns and who leaves, she could also provide some help (and depth) to the offensive line.
There will be tremendous pressure on Mr Imaleaba to deliver results and deliver results quickly.
He’s a freshman at Tennessee, and there are always growing pains for first-year starting quarterbacks in the SEC.
But the Vols are betting he has what it takes to get back to the league’s top tier.
