Wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been added to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ injury report after missing Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury.
Johnson practiced fully on Tuesday, but coach Mike Tomlin did not explain that he was suffering from an illness.
The Steelers will hold one more full practice Thursday before filing a league-mandated status report before Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Starting left guard Isaac Seumalo, who injured his shoulder last week against New England, also missed Wednesday’s practice.
Among the players who improved in Wednesday’s practice compared to the previous day were running back Najee Harris (knee), safety Damonte Kazee (ankle), inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin), and defensive linemen.
Cameron Hayward (groin) was there.
Hayward, Harris and Roberts each had injuries for several weeks, but they overcame them.
Heyward and Kazee practiced in full after being limited on Tuesday, Roberts was limited on Wednesday after missing Tuesday, and Harris was fully active on Wednesday after not practicing at all on Tuesday.
Defensive lineman Keanu Benton (limited, oblique) and reserve cornerback James Pierre (full, shoulder) remained current as of Tuesday and are expected to be available against the Colts.
Tomlin announced Monday that quarterback Kenny Pickett will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury.
The Steelers’ starting duo of outside linebackers practiced Wednesday while in concussion protocol with T.J.
Watt was a full participant and Alex Highsmith was a limited participant.
