Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Reveals Plan to Fill Chris Paul’s Void

When Paul bumped into Pistons guard Jaden Ivey in the third quarter while trying to retrieve a rebound after his miss, he broke his left hand. Paul got up to leave and never came back.In his NBA career, Paul, 38, will have his fifth hand surgery. It is still unclear when he will return.
About getting through the season without Paul, Kerr remarked, “It’s going to be tough.” “Chris is a legendary player who seamlessly integrated into our team. He has not only eased the workload for Steph Curry but has also taken on a leadership role in our second unit, which has proven to be a valuable asset for us this season. He will therefore be missed in both lineups.
Joint Venture
Kerr intends to distribute his playing time among rookies Brandin Podziemski, Corey Joseph, and Moses Moody in the absence of the 12-time NBA All-Star guard.
Kerr remarked, “We won’t replace all those minutes with one guy.” “We’ll probably disperse them.”
Along with 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 27.6 minutes of play this season, Paul leads the Warriors in assists (7.2) and steals (1.1). He has the fewest turnovers per game among Warriors players who play more than 20 minutes—1.2.
Moses Moody Joins the Rotation Again
The chance for dissatisfied swingman Moses Moody to reenter Kerr’s rotation arises from Paul’s absence.
“I can’t wait to see Moses again,” Kerr remarked. He was fantastic, in my opinion [Friday night]. He was quite energized. The sound of the supporters singing his name was fantastic. There’s a reason he’s a fan favorite. He plays hard, and missing out on the previous few games has been difficult for him, but he never fails to be prepared, so I’m
Moody had five and a half minutes without scoring. It was his first game since he scored 11 points against Miami on December 28.
On January 4, Joe Dumas of 95.7 “The Game” revealed that Moody’s team is dissatisfied with his inconsistent role.
Steph Curry Performs Well in a Hurry
Just twenty-four hours after the Warriors’ crushing defeat to the reigning champion Denver Nuggets, Curry salvaged the day, sparing the team from an embarrassing loss to the bottom-seeded Pistons.
After Bojan Bogdanovic’s 3-pointer gave the Pistons the lead with 1:41 remaining, the Warriors star scored 12 of his 26 points in the final 92 seconds.
Curry felt bad for Paul because of what he described as a “freak injury.”
Curry remarked, “I guess hopefully in the short term he can be on the bench and be vocal.”Alder Almo writes about basketball for Heavy, covering the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and New York Knicks.
