Knowles, popularly known as “Weatherman J,” sustained an injury before to the start of the season that was not reported. As a result, he did not play in any games this season.

But in 2021, he played in all 13 games, mostly as a special teams player, and helped the Sooners defeat Western Carolina by scoring two touchdowns.

Knowles played his first two collegiate seasons at Southwestern Oklahoma State in 2018 and 2019, then transferred to Oklahoma from a lower division.

Knowles, who is best known for his work in meteorology, won over fans even though he didn’t play much in Norman.

However, it appears that the Texas native will not be joining the Sooners for another season; instead, he will be concentrating on the next phase of his life as he ends his playing career.
