Good news : Oklahoma Senior Wins Big 12 Honor in OU Basketball….

Skylar Vann won her second conference player of the week award last week after turning in two outstanding performances in two Sooners victories.

The Big 12 Player of the Week award went to Oklahoma senior forward Skylar Vann on Monday, following a week in which she averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.

Vann received the honor for the second time in her career—and for the first time since January 17, 2022—due to her outstanding week. For the past five seasons, Oklahoma (13-6, 7-1 Big 12) has produced a conference player of the week.

Vann recorded her tenth career double-double—19 points and 12 rebounds—in a victory over then-No. 10 Texas at Austin, helping OU defeat the Longhorns, 91-87. In addition, the senior contributed a steal, a block, and two assists. She went a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line and shot 7 of 9 from the field, including all six of her attempts from inside the 3-point arc.

She followed it up on Sunday, leading Oklahoma beat Kansas with 21 points and seven rebounds. She made two crucial baskets in the closing minutes to help Oklahoma win the game and get to 7-1 in the Big 12 for the first time since 2014–15.

This week, Vann was the only player in the league to average 20 points, nine rebounds, and 60 percent or better shooting per game.

Voted in the AP Top 25 poll released on Monday, Vann and the Sooners will take the court once more on Wednesday night when they host No. 2 Kansas State (20-1, 9-0 Big 12) in Norman. ESPN+ will air the tip at 6:00 p.m.
