A youthful outside linebacker is added by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
PITTSBURGH — According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the Pittsburgh Steelers claimed former Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon off of waivers. Moon will officially join the Pittsburgh roster following the Super Bowl. Moon signed as an undrafted free agent with the Ravens last spring and played with them during the preseason before being cut. He was signed to their practice squad but did not play in a game during his rookie season.
This summer, he inked a reserve/future contract with the Ravens, and for the 2023 campaign, he was added to their practice squad once more. After being added to the 53-man roster, he participated in four games as a special teams and defensive player, making one start.
Moon participated in eight games this season, registering 12 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two forced fumbles.
This summer, the former Florida player will have the opportunity to contend for a roster position in Pittsburgh. With Markus Golden poised to enter free agency, the team now has three outside linebackers: T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Nick Herbig.
