Caitlin Clark of Iowa becomes the Division One career scoring leader for women’s basketball in the NCAA.

The senior Hawkeye passes Kelsey Plum with a career-high 49 points during Iowa’s 106-89 victory against Michigan.

(Dakota News Now) – IOWA CITY, IA Tonight in Iowa City, women’s college basketball history was created in grand fashion.

A few minutes into the Iowa Hawkeyes’ game against the Michigan Wolverines, senior Caitlin Clark of the Hawkeyes broke Kelsey Plum’s NCAA Division One lifetime scoring record of 3,527 points with a jumper from the team’s logo at midcourt.

In Iowa’s 106-89 victory over Michigan, Clark would end with a career-high 49 points. With 3,569 career points, she now holds the record for the most points scored in women’s collegiate basketball history.

She is currently just 98 points short of breaking Pete Maravich of LSU’s Division One men’s record.
