Yankees Slugger Says He Is Over His Health Concerns

In order for the New York Yankees to bounce back from their awful season the previous year, the players in the clubhouse will need to perform far better in 2024. Apart from Gerrit Cole, none of the prominent players performed up to their expected level. Nestor Cortes, Aaron Judge, and Carlos Rodon struggled with injuries. Once more, Giancarlo Stanton lacked consistency. When called upon, the role players did not improve their performances.

For the Yankees to reclaim their top spot in the AL East, everything must go according to plan. That will be greatly aided by Anthony Rizzo being healthy. The slugger, who was acquired from the Chicago Cubs during the 2021 season at the trade deadline, is about to begin his fourth season in New York. With 32 home runs and 75 RBI in 2022, the lefty added another dimension of power to the lineup and instantly strengthened their first base defence.
He was cutting before that injury in late May.11 home runs and a 304/.376/.508 line. He then slashed.172/.271/.225 with only one home run after that. He was placed on the 60-day disabled list in September after it became apparent in August that he was suffering from post-concussion syndrome. Rizzo asserts that he has addressed such worries and is prepared for the 2024 campaign.
Thankfully, all of the mental stuff is behind me. Had a fairly regular offseason, which felt extremely lengthy, but he was glad to be back in camp, as reported by Phillip Martinez of SNY, when he spoke to media at Spring Training. The Yankees should be happy about this. Rizzo’s health has a major role in the team’s performance.

He must start for New York in as many games as possible if they are to recover and challenge for a divisional title and World Series triumph. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is a registered trademark of ABG-SI LLC. Copyright ABG-SI LLC. Copyright 2020 All Rights Reserved.
