Everton could yet bid for ‘top class’ Sheffield United player – Report
Sheffield United forward, Iliman Ndiaye, is wanted by Everton this month as the Toffees look to reshape their forward line.
Sean Dyche attempted to bring Ndiaye in during the January window, only for United to hold firm and reap the rewards with promotion to the Premier League.
Of course, Ndiaye was crucial to that promotion. The Senegalese star hit double figures in both goals and assists and swept up at the Blades’ end of season awards.
Ndiaye will be crucial in any hopes United have of staving off relegation. But according to 90Min, Everton could well try and ruin United’s plans.
Everton want to sign Iliman Ndiaye
90Min is claiming that United could be forced into the sales of both Ndiaye and star midfielder, Sander Berge.
Indeed, Everton are credited with having an interest in both players.
Ndiaye is into the last 12 months of his contract and there is a belief that he will simply play things out and see what next summer brings. So far, his agents have refused to get round the table at Bramall Lane to discuss fresh terms.
The good news for United is that Ndiaye is believed to have actively rejected Everton in January.
And despite Dyche trying to put his own stamp on things this summer, it remains to be seen if the Toffees could convince the United ace to move on.
Sheff U News View: Just don’t do it
Much like the situation around Sander Berge, it makes no sense for United to sell Iliman Ndiaye now.
Sure, if someone comes knocking with around £30m, then we might have to consider it for the financial needs of the club. But even then, who are we signing to replace the quality Ndiaye has? The answer, is probably nobody.
Ndiaye will hopefully give United this season and with a bit of luck, we have a superb season and stay up comfortably.
That would give United more bargaining power, as would having some new owners with fresh cash.
