£120,000-A-WEEK MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYER WILL ‘LEAVE’ AMID WEST HAM INTEREST
West Ham United could now reportedly get the chance to sign Fred from Premier League rivals Manchester United
Earlier this month, 90Min reporter Graeme Bailey said on the Talking Transfers podcast that West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred in the summer transfer window.
The journalist claimed that West Ham have ‘sniffed’ around Fred.
The Hammers are looking at the £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder as a potential replacement for Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal this summer.
Fabrizio Romano is now reporting on Twitter that Fred will leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Italian journalist has claimed that the expectation is for the 30-year-old Brazil international midfielder to leave the Red Devils.
Fulham and clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested in the 30-year-old, according to Romano.
West Ham United could be able to sign Fred from Manchester United
We believe that West Ham United could be able to sign Fred from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers are a big and established club in the Premier League that won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
West Ham will play in the UEFA Europa League next season.
David Moyes’s side could also challenge for a top-eight place in the Premier League table next season.
It is hard to see Manchester United demanding a big fee for Fred this summer, so West Ham should not have to worry too much about the cost of a potential transfer.
The Brazilian made 12 starts and 23 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils last season.
Fred scored two goals and gave two assists in those games.
The Brazilian also made six starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for Erik ten Hag’s side last season.
Fred scored one goal and gave one assist in those matches.
The midfielder has made 139 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Fred has scored eight goals and given seven assists in those matches.

Roma have made Gianluca Scamacca their top transfer target with the West Ham forward is currently in Italy, according to Il Tempo.
In its print edition on 23 July, the Italian newspaper reported on page 26 that the 24-year-old had returned to being the Serie A giants’ primary target as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in a striker to replace the injured Tammy Abraham.
While Il Tempo said the Italy international has returned to the country to undergo “medical checks”, it added that he hasn’t had any meetings with Roma as the club continues to try and convince the Hammers to lower their asking price for the player.
This is a story that just continues to rumble on as neither side are willing to give an inch on what they value the player at.
It could look slightly suspicious that Scamacca is currently in Italy, but as the report from Il Tempo reveals, he is only there to complete some medical checks, even if he has made it clear in recent weeks that he would be open to making the switch.
It’s no real surprise to see that Roma have once again made him their top target this summer, with the Serie A side desperate to bring in a new forward and because they appear to have failed in their bid to sign Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid.
The Hammers do seem keen to keep hold of Scamacca, though, so they need to hold firm until they either get a suitable replacement in or their valuation of the player is met, with the club looking to recoup a large chunk of the £35.5m they paid Sassuolo for him last year.
There’s likely to be plenty more twists and turns in this one until Roma come forward with a serious offer or the West Ham hierarchy makes it clear that he is our player and he’s going nowhere.
