Burnley have ‘reached agreement’ for signing – Details to be sorted out before official announcement
On Monday, several claims from the English press stated Burnley are in advanced talks with Sheffield United over a deal for Sander Berge.
This is relayed by TV2 in Norway, who then explain the latest on the deal to take the 25-year-old to Turf Moor. The midfielder didn’t train with the Bees today because he’s getting closer to joining the Clarets.
It’s said Burnley have ‘reached an agreement’ with Sheffield United but there’s no mention of the fee Paul Heckingbottom’s side will collect from this transfer.
For the past few days, the Championship winners have been in talks with Sheffield United over a deal for the Norway international. The website even states the player’s agent, Morten Wivestad, was in England for the past week to get the deal over the line.
Berge’s contract expires in 2024 and Sheffield United are ready to part ways with him. In fact, TV2 say they informed his teammates about his potential move to Burnley on Monday.
Vincent Kompany’s side have made progress by agreeing a deal with Sheffield United. The report adds only ‘some details’ of the transfer need to be sorted out before Berge’s move to Burnley is made official.

On December 7, 2021 Josko Gvardiol started at central defender for RB Leipzig and helped lead the club to a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League. The then 19-year-old led Leipzig in touches (80), carries (60) and pass completions (60) that day.
He also contributed six pressures, three blocks and a tackle, obviously making a huge impression on Pep Guardiola and Man City.
Because now he is here, set to make his debut in a sky blue shirt on Friday night when the Cityzens open their league title defense at Burnley. A new era beckons.
Gvardiol, or Little Pep as he is called for obvious reasons, should slot right in and start in the back line.
He would start anyway, given how much money Man City paid to get him, but you also have a void in defense with Dutchman Nathan Ake a doubt, due to his having missed the Community Shield with a knock.
There is better news though with Kevin de Bruyne, who was finally fit enough to feature in the curtain raise
He’s now fully recovered from the hamstring injury he suffered in the Champions League Final in June, and thus, could be in first team contention here.
