FORMER MK DONS STAR SCOTT TWINE JOINS HULL ON LOAN FROM BURNLEY
Former MK Dons star Scott Twine has joined Championship side Hull City on loan from Burnley.
The 24-year-old joins the Tigers on a season-long loan from last season’s Championship winners, and will be in the squad as soon as tomorrow for Hull’s match away at Blackburn Rovers.
Twine is Hull’s fifth new signing of the 2023 summer transfer window.
The former Swindon player, who can play in midfield, attacking midfield or up front, joined Burnley from MK Dons after a stand-up out 2021/22 season. Twine scored 20 goals in all competitions and was named League One Player of the Season and MK Dons’ Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year for his work.
His work at MK Dons earned Twine a move to Burnley last summer, but an injury sustained in pre-season that got worse over the opening weeks of the campaign and the good form of others limited his play-time. In all, he played 18 times for Burnley, scoring thrice, including a fine free-kick against West Brom, adding to the six direct free-kick goals he scored while in Milton Keynes.
Hull City Head Coach Liam Rosenior told his club’s official website that he was the type of signing they wanted to reflect their ambition to compete.
The club said, “I’m absolutely delighted that Scott has joined us. We’ve beaten off competition from many top clubs in the Championship to secure his signature, based on our identity and style of play.
“This signing shows the ambition we have and that we want the best players we can get. He’s someone we’ve waited for but he’s worth the wait.
“He’s the perfect type of player I want in my team because he completely fits our philosophy. What I love about Scott is his ability to finish actions – to take shots, convert chances and he’s deadly from set-plays. His personality will completely fit into the group.
“He’s fantastic technically, can take the ball between lines, has got amazing movement, makes intelligent runs, presses well and likes to link and combine with other players.
“Scott can play in multiple positions and most importantly, he has end product – an area we identified as one we needed to improve on for this season.”
