Bristol Rovers Yet To Receive Bid For Stoke And Sheffield Wednesday Linked Attacker

Collins, 26, has been plying his trade at the club since 2021 and played a key role in the Gas’ promotion-winning campaign during the 2021/22 season.

He put pen to paper on a contract renewal with Joey Barton’s side last summer, which tied him down at the Gas until 2025

The forward is rated highly in the League One and he has been mooted as a target for Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday, who both want to boost their attacking options.

However, it is now suggested that Bristol Rovers have yet to receive any bids for the Welsh attacker, with the clock ticking on the transfer window.

Whether the Gas will be tested with an offer is unclear.

Collins though has failed to score in any of his five League One outings this season and Barton may be keen for the window to close in order that he can fully focus on on the pitch matters.

The attacker has now made over 100 appearances for Bristol Rovers, scoring 33 times.

Bristol Rovers have been one of the busiest teams in League One when it comes to transfer activity.

Joey Barton has changed his approach this summer, and has recruited several experienced players, who have either won the league title or the play-offs. The Gas’ aim is promotion this season despite an indifferent start, and the 40-year-old has admitted he’s never been so confident about a football team and their progressions.

A total of 12 signings have been made this summer, and there could be one more ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline. A total of 10 players have departed either permanently or on loan, and so the business stacks up well when compared.

Rovers have exchanged a transfer fee for one player, and that is Connor Taylor who returned on a three-year deal from Stoke City. No fee was disclosed to the public, but it is expected to be a six-figure one, and so Rovers have spent more than they’ve brought in with no player sales to date.

Goncalo Cardoso – Played against Braga for Rovers during their pre-season tour in the Algarve. He is a free agent after Marítimo terminated his contract.

James Belshaw – Not been a part of the last few match-day squads. He is available for transfer, and his representatives have tried to find him a new clujb.

Ryan Loft – social media talk linking him up with various clubs, though nothing confirmed from inside the club

Jerry Lawrence – Expected to be made available for loan

Ryan Jones – Expected to be made available for loan despite featuring heavily for the club in pre-season

Aaron Collins – BristolWorld reported Stoke City’s interest earlier in the window, and there was brief talk about Sheffield Wednesday, as well as another Championship club. No bids yet.
