Joe Tomlinson: MK Dons sign Peterborough defender for undisclosed fee - BBC Sport

Graham Alexander’s side are expected to announce the signing of defender Joe Tomlinson from Posh, following his transfer earlier this summer.
He was tipped to join Swindon Town following a loan deal with the club, but the figure discussed by former director of football Sandro Di Michele is believed to be too high.
Tomlinson will link up with former teammate Jack Payne, who was linked with MK Dons on loan from Charlton Athletic.
They are also said to have made a six-figure offer for Harrogate Town striker Luke Armstrong as they continue to strengthen the squad.
The relegated side have re-established their place in the Ligue 2 football league with impressive form at the top of the table after five games, with just one defeat in their opening match.
Tomlinson is a product of Yeovil’s youth, leaving at the age of 18 to join Brighton Academy.
He was loaned to Bognor Regis before leaving the club for Hungerford, where he played only a year.
He joined Eastleigh and then Peterborough United in 2021.
From Peterborough, he was loaned twice at Swindon Town, helping his side reach the play-off semi-finals under Ben Garner in his first stint, but injury kept him out for the remainder of the season.
a time.
He joined Town on the last day of last season but was only able to make seven more appearances through injury.
He joined his parent club and was immediately put on the transfer list, as is the case with Peterborough United with players entering the final year of his contract.
Writer’s point of view
If MK Dons keeps him fit, he would be a perfect pick for them thanks to his versatility that allows him to replace both sides of the defence.
It is a demonstration of the true intentions of Graham Alexander, who is aiming for an immediate return to Ligue 2.
I wouldn’t bet against that at the moment.
