Ipswich Town talking to a free agent
Kieran McKenna is working to add more players to his Ipswich team as he tries to build on a strong start to the season.
The Ipswich boss wants to add at least one more centre-back to his squad as part of his transfer plans.
He is keeping an eye on former Manchester United defender Tuanzebe, who is available on a free transfer.
Ipswich is in talks with the defender to sign him but is under no pressure to do so before tonight’s deadline.
The Championship team plans to hold more talks with the player during the international break. Ipswich is unlikely to sign any more players until the transfer window closes this evening.
Tuanzebe is considered a huge talent at Manchester United, but he has struggled to stay fit during his time at the club.
He captained the Reds at every level, including the senior team, but was ultimately left out at the end of last season.
McKenna worked with Tuanzebe in the Manchester United academy and in the senior team while he coached at the club.

The summer has seen a new dawn in Cardiff, with the arrival of former Turkey Under-21 international Erol Bulut as newcomer to the hot seat. And that seat was pretty hot last season, with three coaches – Steve Morison, Mark Hudson and Sabri Lamouchi – coming and going as Cardiff nearly relegated.
But Bulut, a man with considerable managerial experience, especially at Fenerbahce and Alanyaspor, came with lofty goals.
He say:
“Our ambition must be high. I always set my goals at the highest level, I always have so at least we’ll know what we’re fighting for.”
The transfer ban has made things more difficult for the new boss, but it looks like he’s made some nifty additions without paying a single fee – more info on that soon. that.
And, even though the Bluebirds won only one of their first four games, they’ve certainly shown signs that they’re a team that has improved this campaign.
Tractor Boys took on Leeds last weekend, suffering a 3-4 defeat to Daniel Farke’s side in a thrilling encounter. Gelhardt appeared briefly as a replacement, a role he’s been accustomed to taking since bursting onto the scene under Marcelo Bielsa.
According to journalist Darren Witcoop, he is on the radar of Ipswich amid the dwindling transfer market.
He also claims a move to Gelhardt could lead to Ipswich leadership and former Rotherham United star Freddie Ladapo returning to League One.
He tweeted:
“Ipswich striker Freddie Ladapo was first mentioned. It is entirely possible for him to move to League One today if Ipswich signs another striker. Joe Gelhardt from Leeds, one on the list.
Gelhardt’s last appearance for Leeds was a loss to Salford City in the Carabao Cup, a match in which he struggled to make a big impact.
He made a total of 47 appearances for Leeds, scoring 3 goals and recording 7 assists.
