A Nottingham Forest fan has shared the ‘surreal’ moment he was asked to help translate for new Reds signing Ibrahim Sangaré.
The midfielder is one of seven new players added to Steve Cooper’s squad on the final day., Callum Hudson-Odoi, Andrew Omobamidele and Odysseas Vlachodimos have all joined the group on permanent contracts.
Nuno Tavares and Divock Origi also arrived on loan as Forest ended the summer transfer window with a total of 13 new signings.
And when they arrived in a new country on Friday and couldn’t speak English, the Reds needed a French interpreter for Sangaré who could help them. The cause belongs to Thomas, the Reds fan, who said he was getting ready for bed before the call. He posted a selfie next to Sangaré while explaining that the club’s media team asked him to help translate for the Ivory Coast player during his reveal as a a Red Devils player.
He say:
“Last night I had the most surreal night, a minute ago I was about to fall asleep. The next minute I was at the City Ground translating for Sangaré.
