“We will miss him”:
Club captain reacts after Tottenham sign 22-year-old ‘important’ on his side
Tottenham have signed a number of major signings this summer and the teammate of one of their new players is reacting to the move.
This summer, Tottenham have performed excellently when coach Ange Postecoglou rebuilt the squad. One of the signings was Brennan Johnson.
The player signed for Spurs from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £47.5m on transfer deadline day and is hoping to make an impression.
The 22-year-old had a good season with his former club last season and scored eight Premier League goals. With Harry Kane leaving Spurs, the club really needs to add quality to their attack. Signing players like Johnson is a good step in building the present and the future.
Worrall is speaking on TalkSPORT (September 5; 10:
28h) and said:
“He will definitely be missed. He’s a lovely guy with a good heart and on the football field he gave us so much last year.
“He was the one who lifted us up and kept us there. But that’s football and that’s life. Tottenham are a great club and I wish them all the best.
It’s no surprise to see the Nottingham Forest captain talk so much about the Wales international. He has a very high ceiling and that is underscored by the fact that Spurs are keen to sign him.
His goals were key to Nottingham Forest’s stay in the Premier League last season and so it will be a huge hole for the club to fill.
Meanwhile, with Spurs strikers like Richarlison struggling to score, players like Johnson will be under extra pressure to continue playing under Ange Postecogl.

Tottenham Hotspur had a successful transfer window with many impressive signings. Spurs have completed their summer run with the signing of Wales international Brennan Johnson.
Johnson hopes to make his Spurs debut against Sheffield United after the international break.
The striker has shown his ability in the Premier League after shining for Forest last season.
Johnson has eight league goals and three assists for the Reds, plus 10 goals in all competitions.
His efforts helped Steve Cooper’s side stay in the Premier League in its first season. Before shining in the East Midlands shirt, Johnson had a successful loan period at Lincoln City.
Johnson scored 13 goals for the Imps that season, followed by 19 in his first season as a Forest regular.
Michael Appleton, Spurs’ rookie coach at Lincoln, told Sky Sports how impressive the player is.
“He ran behind it was brutal,” he said. “He’s not the type of player you can face 50m away. “He tends to occupy two players. He has the ability to collect the ball on the edge of his box and, within seconds, let opponents save his life in his own half.
“Having players that can play through the transition and get you moving 40 or 50 yards down the pitch on your own instead of needing smart coordination to play with others is huge.
“He is one of those guys who can shock you when you come on. It relieves pressure. “I’ve worked with strikers who can lose interest and get frustrated if they don’t get the right serve, but Brennan has a great attitude. He’s still a willing run.
We’ve all seen what Johnson is capable of in the Premier League when he shone for Forest last season and kept them going.
He is an excellent player with a bright future ahead of him, so it will be good to see how he turns out.
