The Coach Literally – Tottenham Hotspur star gives Ange Postecoglou insight
Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven insists Ange Postecoglou would rather see him make mistakes playing from behind than try to hit long balls.
Postecoglou has had a brilliant start to his life as a Tottenham manager, winning three of his first four league games and his side remaining unbeaten in the Premier League.

The Australian side play exciting football and Van de Ven, who joined Spurs in the summer, played a key role in defending the team at the start of the campaign.
He revealed that Postecoglou had clearly wanted to use him from the start when he spoke to the defender in the summer and ensured him regular appearances regardless of his adaptation to the Premier League like how.
The midfielder told Dutch news agency NU:
“At my age, it is important that we have a lot of game time.
“I spoke in detail with the Tottenham manager
“And he said, ‘I’m going to take you to the game, and it might not work out right away, but then I know you have the quality’.
Van de Ven also insists he enjoys playing under Postecoglou because no matter what, he is focused on playing from the back.
He stressed that the Spurs coach is willing to take responsibility if he makes a mistake, but does not want to see his team play long balls to defend.
“It is a pleasure to play for Tottenham.

“The goal is to play from the back and if there is a mistake, that is the responsibility of the coach.
“The coach literally said ‘you can make mistakes, it’s better than kicking the ball off the field three times in a row’.

‘Tottenham asked for info’ Romano reveals Spurs asked about £72m striker before signing Brennan Johnson
Tottenham Hotspur are said to have asked for Rasmus Hojlund earlier in the summer transfer window, before the Danish striker joined Manchester United.
Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed this information in his latest YouTube video.
Tottenham’s interest in Hojlund is part of an effort to find a potential replacement for Harry Kane, who eventually moved to Bayern Munich for a massive fee of nearly £100m.
Over the summer, Tottenham have been linked with a number of attacking players including Ghent’s Gift Orban, Lille’s Jonathan David, Porto’s Mehdi Taremi, Romelu Lukaku, Dusan Vlahovic and others.
Their final forward pick, however, was Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson, whom manager Ange Postecoglou admires and considers a “main” target.
According to Romano, Tottenham have inquired about Rasmus Hojlund’s readiness in July and want to understand the terms of a possible deal.
However, this move was not feasible at the time as Kane was not yet sold to Bayern Munich.
The player himself is focused on a move to Manchester United, which is his dream move.
Speaking on his YouTube, Romano said
“There is another club, an English club and that club from what I hear is Tottenham.
“Tottenham in July requested information about Rasmus Hojlund, they wanted to be informed of the terms of the agreement and the conditions on the part of the players.
But it can’t go on anymore.
“The first is because Kane is not sold to Bayern and therefore Hojlund’s arrival at Tottenham can only happen if they sell Kane to Bayern, which happens later in the August transfer window and not in July.
“It’s important to mention that for this player, at the time, it was like letting me focus on United because my dream was to join Manchester United.
“But then Tottenham asked for information about Hojlund when they sold Harry Kane to Bayern last year.
