‘He didn’t do it’:
Reporter explains why Wolves winger Chiquinho had his loan deal canceled with Stoke
There was drama at the end of the January transfer window when Chiquinho was canceled on loan at Stoke City – and now there is more information on the situation.
Over a month ago, Chiquinho was sent to the Championship with Ki-Jana Hoever.
Wolves officials are keen on Chiquinho playing after he missed last season through injury.
But the star appeared only a few times before her loan was abruptly terminated.
So what happened? Columnist Liam Keen talked about the situation in the latest Express & Star podcast
Wolves have sent a number of players there on loan in recent years.
The move was organized pretty quickly, which is a good thing.
But what happened to Chiquinho at Stoke? Well, journalist Liam Keen says that the player disagrees with coach Alex Neil.
He say:
“It is quite complicated for a club to cancel a loan agreement. Apparently, he also had an (optional) summon in January. Fortunately, Stoke were sharp enough for Wolves to do this.
“He really didn’t agree with Alex Neil at Stoke. Maybe I was a bit harsh with Alex Neil because I’ve never had any experience with him – I’m just basing my perception on this. But he is. feel like you’re probably not an easy person to work with, especially if you’re a young foreigner and maybe not used to his style. “But I can’t use that as an excuse for Chiquinho. If you don’t do what is told or asked to do or don’t give 100% to it, that’s bad for a boy. There’s something I don’t really expect from him either, because of all the signs I get from him… he won’t do it.
“I think maybe there was (a foul on both sides). He disagrees with Neil. The wolves wanted to find a solution quickly.
Keen added that Chiquinho now has no chance of being recalled by Wolves and the players cannot play for three clubs in one season.
What is important now is that Chiquinho leaves behind what happened at Stoke.
Too bad it ended before it really started.
But sometimes things don’t go as planned.
It would be great if Chiquinho could play in the Championship. But the most important thing is that he has built momentum this season after injury. I hope he will be in Farmalicao now.
German club SC Freiburg are said to have contacted Wolves about a loan deal for Fabio Silva – but the striker has decided to stay.
Speculation has followed Silva for quite a while in the summer transfer window.
The youngster has had a productive spell at Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven. But soon, reports cast doubt on Silva’s ability to keep Silva at Wolves.
It is suggested that the club will listen to offers made for him.
And his agent also made comments indicating that Silva is looking for a way out.
According to BILD, Freiburg has contacted Wolves about the possibility of recruiting Silva.
They felt there was a chance a deal would be done as at the time Silva was said to be likely to leave. But the situation has changed.
In the end, Wolves decided they would not listen to offers for Silva.
They want to keep him and Gary O’Neil is looking for him to play a key role this season.
Silva was initially very open to the idea.
But he’s obviously happy to stay at Wolves given the reassurance.
