Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues boss Mark Robins explains Ben Sheaf’s absence at Hull.
Coventry City will be without key midfielder Ben Sheaf for at least two weeks after suffering a groin strain in training.
The Sky Blues player stopped off at Ryton on Thursday as the team prepared for the match against Hull, forcing the 25-year-old to miss the 1-1 draw at the MKM Stadium on Friday night.
Captain Liam Kelly has replaced Josh Eccles in his absence and looks set to continue in action while Sheaf recovers.
When asked what the player did, Mark Robins replied:
“He sprained his groin.
Well, it’s actually an accessory muscle (a group of muscles on the inside of the thigh) and it’s active for an indefinite amount of time.
I thought this would take at least a few weeks.

Regarding Kelly’s performance in the first match of the season, he said:
“I think he did pretty well.
To be fair, he was all over the place at times, but he played higher and almost scored when they were trying to compete.
We went in and when the referee spotted a foul, we rushed in and missed.
