Norwich City 0-2 Leicester:
Reaction from the David Wagner Championship
Barnes was forced off for Adam Idah early in the second half at Carrow Road on Wednesday night after landing awkwardly while making a run to the near post to attack a cross.
US international Josh Sargent has been out of action until the new year, due to an ankle injury earlier this season in a 4-0 win over Huddersfield.
“It looked like a knee ligament injury. How serious is this? He will be scanned tomorrow (Thursday) and then we will know more,” Wagner said. “It could be (a layoff) but we’ll wait to find out more. What the last few games have shown is that we have depth in the squad.
“Our substitutes had an impact in this game. Przemyslaw (Placheta) is present. Adam had an impact. Onel (Hernandez) did well and (Hwang) Ui-Jo had some good moves and a very good chance. We will use and need everyone.
“We said that before starting this intense series of matches before the next international break. We have proven that we can trust each of our players. Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game. We hope it’s not too serious.
“Obviously we were disappointed to lose, but it was a great performance,” Wagner said. “That suits me perfectly. In the first half, Leicester was the better team. In the second half we were like that. We gave them too much dangerous space. “Against a quality team, you have to decide what areas to give them. We gave them mistakes but we adjusted in the second half.
“The most frustrating thing was the first goal we conceded. We had the ball twice in the build-up and lost it carelessly. We made three mistakes in 10 seconds and they punished us. After that, we weren’t decisive enough, even though we created three or four very good chances.
“Gibbsy (Liam Gibbs) had to at least hit the ball. (Shane) Duffy could have scored with his head. Kenny (McLean) was unlucky and Ui-Jo at the near post was a good situation. You don’t win’ I don’t there were 10 or 15 chances like this against Leicester. Clear. But then you have to be clinical if you want to get something out of it.
“The players have done an incredible amount of work. They never give up. The support was there from the stands. Everything is there to achieve results. But we were beaten by a top team. Accept it, respect it. Now we continue.
“We had three points on the table and we couldn’t get them. Three more points will be on the board this Saturday in Plymouth.

The medal was worn by Claudio Ranieri, and rightly so, but many of the players in that team were acquired and developed under Pearson, while the dressing room culture bore his stamp everywhere.
A standing ovation as well as a show of respect and admiration was given to the 60-year-old, who, after leaving the King Power Stadium in 2015, did not return as opposition manager after left King Power Stadium in 2015. He cannot ignore that, or the importance of his six years spread across two spells at the Foxes, in which they won promotion from League One and the Championship, and shaped the careers of Current Premier League legend and club Jamie Vardy, Riyadh. Mahrez, Kasper Schmeichel and many others. He will embrace it with pride and discreet professionalism.
