Rotherham United manager BANNED after ‘disrespectful’ in Preston North End clash
Rotherham United manager Matt Taylor will be banned for one match after receiving a booking against Preston North End.
He received a warning – his third of the season – after complaining about two decisions by referee Sam Allison in the EFL Championship clash between the Millers and Lilywhtes at the weekend.
Taylor complained about the foul on Viktor Johansson that led to Liam Lindsay’s goal, as well as the continued playing after injury of defensive midfielder Christ Tiehi.
He was cautioned for “disrespect” towards the referee and the FA on Monday confirmed the one-match suspension he will serve in the next match.
“My blood is still boiling,” an angry Taylor told the Rotherham Advertiser in his post-match press conference at the New York Stadium. “It’s important that I protect my players. Injustice happens all too often in Rotherham.
“I will pay the fine because the club did not pay and I will continue to do so because otherwise no one will talk about this issue.
“It’s wrong and I have to keep emphasizing that it’s wrong. Should I just stand there and let it happen? ” I can’t do that. I have to somehow find a way to point out the shortcomings of this (refereeing) department.
However, Rotherham United received some luck from the referee when Tyler Blackett remained on the field after a strong challenge on captain Alan Browne in the second half.
Elsewhere, Liam Millar was denied a penalty late on after falling following a tackle by Fred Onyedinma, but protests were rejected.
Rotherham United’s next match is against Cardiff City on Saturday 30 September at Cardiff City Stadium. Meanwhile, Preston North End return to Deepdale when they host West Brom. FIND OUT MORE

The Preston North End youngster – who is also eligible to play for Brazil and Spain and is also wanted by England – received his first call-up to the Argentina squad earlier this month. The 16-year-old freshman has been linked with Diego Placente’s squad, which has played a number of matches in camp, including against Boca Juniors.
Rodriguez-Gentile started playing at North End last December and has been training with the first team over the past few months. He has been heavily involved in pre-season preparations with the senior team and is now targeting a place in Argentina’s squad for November and December’s major tournament in Indonesia.
“Oh yeah, that was amazing,” Rodriguez-Gentile told the club media. “I really want to go, but there are a lot of guys and the roster is small. We’ll have to see, but it would definitely be a dream. I’m just enjoying the moment. I’m not really nervous about that.” whether I “Go or not, because I still have a lot of time. I’m just happy because they know me, who I am and that being called up has made my year.”
Regarding his recent stay, the teenager added:
“It was very good, I really enjoyed it. I made some good friends, met my family and played football, it was fun. I’m buzzing (to be called). They came to see me and I was a little nervous, but at the end of the day they called me and I just felt nervous.
“It was tiring… sitting on a plane for many hours and when I got there I started to feel a bit nervous,
