Ryan Lowe has responded to reports that he is in Rangers’ sights to succeed Michael Beale in the Ibrox hotseat, admitting that managing the Ibrox team is a “fantastic opportunity”.
Record Sport have exclusively revealed that Light Blues chief executive James Bisgrove has asked about the cost of moving the Preston North End manager from Deepdale. And the former Bury and Plymouth boss, who took the Lilywhites flying in the English Championship, was asked about the news ahead of his side’s away trip to Leicester City on Wednesday night.
And the 45-year-old man recounted how his son informed him of our story. He said:
“I realized it this morning when I arrived, my son told me. Again, I don’t use social media, I don’t know. But I think I’ve been involved in a lot of jobs since I became a manager. I think when your team does well and you do well, you obviously bond. But I’m the manager of Preston North End and it’s an honor to manage this football club, to work with Peter Ridsdale and the Hemmings family.Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know. But for me, this football club and its supporters are still by my side. We went through a difficult time last season and you just have to look at what we are doing now.“I think I will probably be one of 20 or 30 people who have a great opportunity to manage a team like Rangers Football Club. But my only big one is Preston North End and there might be another manager going there this afternoon, tomorrow.” and at any time. For us, it’s just what we do.

My only target is PNE. I am one of those managers who is still learning. I am always on a path of wanting to be the best I can be, no matter where that takes me. In terms of tenure as manager, I think I’m probably one of the longest serving in the Championship and that’s because I’m at a great football club – well supported and supported. There were never any hasty decisions, it was always structured and well done. Who knows? One day, I obviously want to manage in the Premier League, as most young managers do.
“I would love nothing more than to do this with a club 29 miles from home. But then again, everyone has ambitions to succeed in the Premier League. I wouldn’t jump ship to go to a club on the level of Preston North End, it has to be something special and I don’t think that comes close. I think I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of work. I work with good people and the more good people you work with, the better you can become
