McAteer, Praet – Leicester City’s latest injury, Maresca happily ‘lost quality’ because of balance
Enzo Maresca confirmed that Kasey McAteer will be out of action for up to 6 weeks due to the hamstring injury he suffered at Blackburn.
McAteer was stopped while sprinting into the box just 18 minutes after coming on. He will be out of action for at least a month and possibly until after
the international break in November.
“It will take four to six weeks,” Leicester City boss Maresca spoke about McAteer’s injury during the press conference, before joking:
“Kasey McAteer is top scorer, which means we’re in big trouble!
” We’re not happy because he did so well. He’s a great guy, happy and hungry.” What a shame for him. There are only 6 weeks left but perhaps this is the
right time for him to rest after a good start. He will be back with us soon.
There are no new injuries, so McAteer will be one of five players absent from the squad to face compatriots Preston on Wednesday night. Jannik
Vestergaard is suspended and Callum Doyle is out until the new year after knee surgery, while Tom Cannon and Dennis Praet have back problems.
Giving an update on Praet, Maresca said:
“Dennis, I don’t know exactly, but I think in four weeks he will be able to start. But not with us, he can start running.”
The task for Maresca is to avoid picking up any more injuries. With the clash with Preston the second of three games in seven days, he has hinted at
rotating, even if that leads to a drop in quality.
“It’s been a problem,” he said. “It will be a problem because we have more games to play. It is what it is. Every club is the same. It’s not easy to find a
solution.
“The best we can do is try to adapt and pivot. Sometimes we have to reduce the quality a bit due to rotation. But you have to find a balance if you want to
drop the quality a little and stay injury-free, or accept the risk of further injury and get more quality.

The Foxes have had an eventful summer with significant changes to the playing squad and coaching staff.
However, the club have not let this affect them and have started this season in phenomenal form.
The club finished top of the table after nine games, winning eight and losing just one, at home to Hull City.
Leicester is expected to continue to maintain this position for the rest of the season because they are one of the serious contenders in this tournament.
As one of the major teams in the National League, it is not surprising to see traveling fans selling away tickets at King Power Stadium.
Supporters want to try out the new ground and can’t wait to see their team play against a team that was in the Premier League last season.
So that got us thinking about Football League World away ticket prices at Leicester City and how they compare with the rest of the league.
In the Premier League, the away limit is £30 per Premier League team; However, this is not the case in the Championship and teams are unlikely to
exceed the odds.
It seems this season Leicester have set their away ticket prices, as evidenced by the amount Cardiff City and Preston North End fans have to pay to
support their teams.
Adult tickets cost £30, seniors and under 22s pay £28.
