Why Collingwood coach Craig McRae is REFUSING to wear his premiership medal after the Magpies’ grand final triumph
Collingwood coach Craig McRae has revealed why he won’t wear his premiership medal and has thrown his voice behind calls for medals to be awarded to players from the winning club who did not feature on grand final day.
Debate has raged since the Magpies’ epic four-point win over the Brisbane Lions last Saturday about how players who missed out should be recognised.

21-year-old utility Trey Ruscoe appears to have been delisted by Collingwood following its premiership triumph, with the club seemingly transitioning to its off-season list management operation.
Ruscoe, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 National Draft from East Fremantle, managed 18 AFL games in Magpies colours.
While a delisting nor a potential retirement has been officially confirmed by Collingwood, Ruscoe’s Wednesday night Instagram post suggests he certainly will not be a Magpie next season, with multiple teammates commenting messages of support in response.
“Wow, what a journey it has been,” Ruscoe said via Instagram. “I’ve met some amazing people along the way that I am just so thankful for and I’m just so happy that I got the opportunity to play at such a great club.
“The friendships I have made will be forever lasting and I will miss everyone from the club so much. Everyone has played a massive part in my career and I have learnt many lessons on the way which I am so thankful for.
“To the Collingwood faithful fans you have been awesome and we/I couldn’t have done it without your support the whole way through, thank you @collingwood_fc.”
