The officer was shot around 5 p.m. on West 6th Street and Johnson Court. The driver did not stop after the incident but police later found this person. The police officer suffered minor injuries. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
It is unclear at this time whether the driver will be arrested or if any charges will be filed in connection with the accident.
Cleveland police did not provide any further information about the incident.
