Browns’ David Njoku reveals intense facial burns he suffered in nasty fire pit accident
Browns tight end David Njoku took to Instagram to show the world the extent of the burns he suffered two weeks ago.
Njoku suffered burns to his face and arms during an accident at his home while he was lighting a fire pit at the end of September.
On Wednesday, he posted a series of photos, one of which revealed the burns he suffered in the incident, while another that appeared to show how much his injuries have healed since the scary incident.
It remains unclear what exactly took place to cause the burns.
Njoku played through the burns during the Browns’ Week 4 28-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
He recorded six catches for 46 yards against Baltimore after showing up to the stadium in a full mask to hide the extent of the burns.
The Browns are coming off a bye week and will take on the 49ers this weekend at home.
For his part, Njoku is trying to make lemonade out of lemons with the whole thing.
On Tuesday, he announced that he was launching a merchandise line to raise awareness, resources and support for burn-related care, prevention, education, and research.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to the American Burn Association (ABA).

There were doubts Njoku would play on Oct. 2 because he also suffered burns to his hands, but did all he could to help a struggling rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
The Browns tight end tried to burn Baltimore Ravens defenders and finished with team highs in receptions, six and receiving yards, 46.
