Denver Broncos coach is absolutely furious

Last year, it was the Denver Broncos offense that struggled, ranking dead last in the entire NFL in terms of scoring offense. But this year, it’s been the defense that’s struggled more than the offense, ranking dead last in the league in terms of scoring defense. And it doesn’t sound like defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is happy about it.

Through five games, the Denver Broncos have given up 181 points to opponents – the most of any team in the NFL so far this season. And Vance Joseph made it clear that he is pretty furious that the defense is not living up to the standard, and he’s “working to get it fixed.”

“It’s been frustrating. It hasn’t been fun, but my focus is improving weekly,” Joseph said according to Pro Football Talk. “It’s been bizarre, a little bit. But I get it, it’s the league. It’s a hard league. But no one’s blinking. Everyone’s working. And I’m working to fix it. And I thought last week it was closer, outside four or five plays. We can’t have those plays. That’s not NFL football. You can’t run through the defense for 70 yards untouched. I’m not used to that. I’m unfamiliar with that. Yes, I’m pissed off about that. Absolutely I am. But I’m not broken. I’m working to get it fixed, but I’m not happy about that.”

The Broncos’ defense faces another stiff test this week when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs and their prolific high-scoring offense on Thursday night. We’ll have to see if they can bounce back.

The Denver Broncos have had a nightmare start to their 2023 season.  Just a few short months after signing proven head coach Sean Payton, the team is already in danger of calling their 2023 season a failure.  There have already been reports that the Broncos are open to listen to trade offers for multiple star players.

Today it was reported that the Broncos have released one wide receiver who has started four of their five games so far in 2023.

In a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Denver Broncos released receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

Humphrey, a fifth-year player, has played in all five games this season for the Broncos including starting four of them. The Denver Broncos’ Week 1 matchup against Las Vegas saw him grab four passes for 26 yards and score a touchdown.

The 25-year-old wide receiver has spent time with the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Denver Broncos during his career.

The move is a bit surprising given the reports indicating the Broncos are open to trade offers for Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.
