: NFL Rumors Of Rex Ryan Becoming Denver Broncos Defensive Coordinator
The Green Bay Packers this week will face the Denver Broncos this week, but Denver could be soon making a chance at defensive coordinator and bringing in Rex Ryan. At the current moment, Vance Joseph is the current defensive coordinator for the Broncos.
According to the Pat McAfee show, he says these are “rumors” that Rex will soon take over as Defensive Coordinator for the Broncos. McAfee works with Rex Ryan on ESPN, and he is hearing this stuff from around the league and not ESPN. Here is the video of Pat McAfee talking about the possibility of it happening:
Rex Ryan was last in the NFL in 2016 as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills. He was coaching them for two seasons. Ryan was also head coach of the New York Jets from 2009-2014 and was in the AFC Championship Game two years in a row.
Ryan was also the defensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens from 2005-2008 and built one of the best defenses in the NFL. He coached players like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis.
It would be so funny if the Packers did face a Rex Ryan-faced defense this weekend, but they will be facing a Vance Joseph defense instead which is not very good. Denver’s defense held the Kansas City Chiefs offense to 19 points last week, but the offense only scored eight total points in that football game as well.
The Broncos’ defense so far this season is ranked last in the NFL this season at giving up 440.3 yards per game. This is one of the reasons why head coach Sean Payton wants to make a change at defensive coordinator in the immediate future. Just changing coordinators from Joseph to Ryan would be hilarious, only because he hasn’t coached in the NFL for several years and is 60 years old.
Rex Ryan would be an immediate upgrade for the Denver Broncos if he coached against the Green Bay Packers and the Jordan Love offense this week, but too bad. It would be something to watch, and this could be a rumor worth monitoring as we progress throughout the rest of the regular season, as well as with the Rex Ryan rumors.

The Green Bay Packers made a change to their personnel ahead of their matchup vs. the Denver Broncos. Going into Week Seven the Packers are 2-3 and looking to get back on track after back to back losses to the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders.
A significant aspect of the Packers’ offense has been missing a key component. They are hoping the signing today will help with that.
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Packers signed former Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson.
Robinson earned All-Rookie honors in 2020 with the Jacksonville Jaguars when he put up 1,070 rushing yards. The Packers worked out Robinson two weeks ago but waited until Week 7 to sign Robinson.
Robinson spent time with the New York Jets in 2022. He’s been on the New England Patriots and New York Giants practice squads this season.
The Packers have elevated running backs off the practice squad for nearly every game of the season so far. Even though Robinson was signed to the practice squad, it is highly likely he will see playing time this year. When fans saw that the Packers added a former 1,000 yard rusher, they took to social media to react
